Truckin' into Summer

It has taken several months of searching to find a soft, affordable organic shirt for our pickiest customers. What brings back summer memories better than riding in the back of an old truck (when it was legal).

Summer's begun and it's not too soon to gear up for Georgia football. Abbey says she'll be sporting her school colors at the pool, playground and art studio.

More colors available soon but for now we’ll be truckin in blue and cheering our dawgs in red.  Youth shirts are offered in youth 2-4, 6-8, 10-12, 14 and quantities are limited.

Looking to the Past

“All this wasn’t all that long ago, when we could challenge ourselves to put a man on the moon and hope in our hearts. This is the uniquely American dream. This is what made America the envy of the world, and the beacon to the world.“ Neil Cavuto, from the forward of The Reconstruction of America.

This month three new giclee reproductions by Steve Penley are being released that illustrate Neil Cavuto’s eloquent remarks from his forward in Steve’s book. “We have so much for which to be grateful, and so many to whom we should always be thankful. In a day and age where we’re beaten down to think we don’t matter, this matters.”

The Art of Photography

Is Steve holding Parker or does she have him? I think the answer is obvious. Over the past year Steve has had the wonderful opportunity of working with lively photographer Shelli Allen from Marietta, Georgia. Always on the move Shelli never stops and her creative abilities and wonderful personality pour from the images she captures. Enjoy more at www.shelliallenphotography.com.

Tim McClain: A model approach

Once one of America’s top models whose labors now lie on the other side of the lens is currently instrumenting Steve’s reproductions for the collection of work shown here as well as corporate commissions for companies such as The Coca-Cola Company and Chick-fil-A. McClain, who has been reluctantly forced into Penley’s world of last minute confusion and panic by sheer luck of proximity, continues to produce the highest quality workmanship and artistry even if he doesn’t get any sleep the night before. Studio photographs of Steve by McClain also rotate on the opening page and can be viewed at www.mccphotos.com.

TUESDAY, APRIL 26, 2010

Rotating on the opening page are several shots of the studio by close friend, gallery owner and photographer Robert Matre. Prior to opening The Matre Gallery in 1996 past (and some current) occupations include University of Gerogia Tri Delta house boy, hotel detective NYC, Mori Luggage sales representative and founder of Ansley Country Club golf group, The Swindlers. All of which contribute to his remarkable artistic abilities behind the camera and inside the gallery. His work can be viewed at www.robertmatre.com. and www.matregallery.com.
